Podiatry Assistant / Footcare Assistant

Location: Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Podiatry Assistant. This part-time position offers flexible hours, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to work around child commitments and school hours. If you possess a background in healthcare, a genuine care for people, a willingness to provide foot care for those in the community, and a full drivers licence, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist podiatrists in delivering high-quality foot care to elderly,  in rest homes, and high-needs patients

  • Carry out mobile foot care services in clients homes across the Waikato region as directed in consultation with a podiatrist

  • Maintain accurate records of client visits and care

  • Adhere to all safety and hygiene protocols

  • Provide compassionate care to patients with dementia, long-term injuries, and other high-needs conditions

  • Manage appointment schedules and ensure timely service delivery

  • Work collaboratively as part of a compassionate healthcare team

  • Utilise basic technology for record-keeping and communication

Requirements:

  • A full driver's licence is mandatory

  • A background in healthcare, aged care or nail care is preferable

  • A compassionate, empathetic, patient, and caring demeanour

  • Excellent time management, communication and problem-solving skills and an eye for detail

  • Basic technology competence

  • An ability to work well in a team and independently on tasks

  • Passed criminal background checks including drug and alcohol screening

  • Willing to do ongoing study to gain suitable skills and qualifications for the role

Podiatrist - Hamilton, Waikato


We are looking for a kind hearted, community minded Podiatrist to join the team at Jessica Dobbs Podiatry, Hamilton's only fully Mobile Podiatry service. New graduates and experienced Podiatrists are welcome to apply.

We work with a variety of patients in many different contexts, including high risk diabetics, hospital patients, ACC and other complex health cases. We also provide biomechanical and surgical services in our clinic sites in Hamilton. We pride ourselves on patient focused treatment with an excellent standard of care. 

If you are authentic, trustworthy, and have a compassionate disposition, we want to hear from you. You will also need:

  • A full Drivers licence

  • The ability to work independently

  • A heart for helping those in need

  • Adaptability to work in changing environments

  • Great communication skills

  • Out of the box thinking

  • Good rapport with people and the ability to laugh

Full time and part time options are available with flexible work hours. We respect a good work/life balance.  Ongoing education and upskilling will be promoted and are included in the role as well as Registration and PodNZ membership.
